DDLC Ren'Py Coding Influence

On GitHub, a user uploaded the entire coding scripts for the visual novel Doki Doki Literature Club. It was a legal sharing of course, with expressed permission from the creator Team Salvato. From here I was able to learn a lot of different coding effects, transitions and transforms that create intensive atmosphere and disorientation to the player. This was a necessity if I was going to make a psychological horror too.

Exploring the coding led me to testing out different elements such as pulsating veins on the screen to static distortion for a background image. This led to inspiring my development in creating a cinematographic jumpscare scene.
